About us

Trust we've already tested

Philipson Abadi is a mediation and advisory partnership for engineering organizations.

We are Gavrie Philipson and Moria Abadi. We each bring 25+ years of hands-on experience in engineering leadership and architecture, and still write code ourselves.

I've built systems and the teams around them: storage at IBM's XIV, clustering at Redis, streaming payment data at Sunbit, genomics pipelines at Ultima. Mostly distributed, mostly performance-critical, in Rust, Go, Python, and C. In every role the other half of the job was people: hiring engineers and training them, and growing teams that outlasted me. In recent years I've been helping early-stage startups lay their technical foundations and build their first engineering teams.

I've spent my career where software meets proof: real-time systems at Elbit, program verification at IBM Research, a founding role on Enigma's protocol, and five years at Redis — leading the team owning the proxy, one of Redis's most critical components, then the team automating tens of thousands of cloud databases. I'm a published researcher and patent holder, and I've led international teams under real production pressure. Today I run Binametis, an AI academy teaching the fundamentals of AI from the ground up. Making new technology practical is the part of the work I've never put down.

We’ve led teams through major transitions, and we know what those changes ask of the people living through them.

We met as colleagues before we became a practice. We’ve been in the same building, working on the same problems. That history is part of why this works: we each know how the other thinks, and we’ve already tested that combination under pressure.

We work both halves: staying credible in the technical conversation and recognizing what is shaping it underneath the surface.

There’s more of it below: company by company, told in our own words.
